You don't have to fake it, fear judgement, or filter your thoughts.

Our problems and fears feel more threatening and overwhelming when we're alone with them, inside our heads, on repeat, without anyone to help us make sense of them.

That's why my aim in counselling is to create a space where you don't have to perform okayness. We'll talk about real stuff: the thoughts, feelings, and situations that brought you here — whatever that looks like for you.

Feeling truly listened to and understood does something. It opens up self-awareness you didn't know was there, brings clarity to things that felt murky, and, over time, rebuilds your confidence in yourself.

Most of my clients leave our first session saying: that was a lot less awkward than I thought it would be.

What working with me looks like

In our sessions, you'll notice my warmth and curiosity, and you might be surprised to know that we also share a few laughs. Therapy doesn't have to be heavy all the time.

My goal is to understand your patterns, your values, and the path you've walked in life. Whether you're dealing with conflict in a relationship, anxiety about work or school, or that unsettling feeling of being lost and indecisive, together, we can get to the root of it.

I like to hold a balance between understanding why you struggle the way you do, and how we can help you make small but meaningful changes that show up in your present life. We're practical, but we're also treating the underlying things that keep flaring up, not just patching over them.

I draw from EFT, ACT, IFS, the Gottman Method, and somatic approaches, because our bodies often give us clues before our minds catch on.

I'm originally from Bogotá, Colombia and I arrived in Canada as a refugee in 2002. That experience of starting over, of holding two worlds inside you at once, of figuring out who you are when the ground keeps shifting, it never leaves you.

It also shapes how I show up for my clients. I understand, in a very personal way, what it means to feel like an outsider. To not quite belong in either place. To carry things that others around you don't fully understand. That's part of why I became a counsellor, and it's part of why I offer sessions in both English and Spanish.

I'm a middle child and a lifelong observer, which has given me a pretty good handle on family dynamics and how they quietly shape our relationships and our sense of self. I notice things. It's kind of my thing.

Outside of the therapy room, I'm social by nature, I recharge in the company of people I love. I'm driven by creativity and have a deep appreciation for photography and crafting (even when my creations don't turn out quite as planned). And I'm a proud dog mama to Coco, a rescue who has taught me more about patience and trust than almost anything else.

A Little More…

Who I work with

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with a genuinely diverse range of people, from Indigenous and immigrant communities to otherwise stable people quietly struggling with relationships, stress, and the complexity of family life.

I work with individuals and couples, and I'm a strong ally of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. If you've ever wondered whether your problems are 'bad enough' to warrant therapy, they are. You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support.
